Roadside & River Cleanup Initiatives
Mountain Bridge TU invites members to our roadside cleanups and South Saluda River clean-ups, covering a two-mile stretch on Highway 11/276 and the "Rock Vanes" area. Volunteers meet at 9:00 AM for the 1.5-hour cleanup, followed by fishing at the Rock Vanes or Eastatoe River.
Orange safety vests and grabbers are provided, while participants are asked to bring gloves and check their email for the upcoming date.

Seven volunteers collected 11 bags of trash from the MBTU designated two mile section of Hwys. 11/276 next to the South Saluda River. MBTU members Mike Harvell, Dave Armstrong, Steve Genta, Keith Stinchcomb, Keith Schiding, and Ken Baerwalde along with Ellie Joseph from Keep Greenville County Beautiful (KGCB) participated in this event.
The next cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th. We hope to see more MBTU volunteers involved in this worthwhile environmental project.
Keep Greenville County Beautiful (KGCB) inspire the citizens of Greenville County to take actions every day to prevent litter, support the citizens of Greenville County to reverse the negative effects of litter, and educate the younger generations about littering and inspire environmental stewardship, as well as, provides attainable litter prevention solutions and resources to the citizens of Greenville County.
The Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) program in South Carolina is a statewide volunteer initiative managed by Palmetto Pride in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT). Established in 1987, it allows community groups, businesses, and individuals to maintain sections of state-maintained roads to combat litter and improve local aesthetics.
