Peter Hansen Life Journeys in Adventure & Fishing
Born in Wisconsin on the Mississippi River town of La Crosse and grew up in
Iowa, Alabama, Kansas and Missouri. My educational major was biology and
graduated from University with focus on both Freshwater Fisheries and Marine
Biology.
Throughout my early years I ventured out on numerous wilderness trips with my
Brothers to Canada. We learned how to be skilled in a canoe, navigation with
compass, portaging with packs/canoe and sustaining ourselves in the wild. We
planned our trips using old topographical maps and hired bush pilots to fly us in.
And of course fishing and catching fish as our main source of protein.
Over the years my career took me all over the world, resulting in living in England
and Australia. While living in Australia, I met and married my Aussie wife and
soulmate, Nicole. We have enjoyed being together and lived in numerous states
from California to Florida. Around the turn of the century we bought a fishing
property on the Madison River, south of Three Forks, Montana. There by the
Madison I worked with aquatic engineers to restore both spring creeks on the
property, plus adding four wildlife wetland areas and a large pond for trout. The
spring creek restoration produced the return of Brown Trout to spawn.
Additionally while in Montana I worked with friends to start a brewery, resulting in
Bridger Brewing in Bozeman and more recently Bridger Brewing in Three Forks.
Today I live in Tryon, NC. and enjoy fly fishing for Steelhead and guiding outside
of Nome, Alaska, where I have guided for over a dozen years. I am always
amazed at the wonders of Alaska and truly enjoy being involved with other
people catching great wild fish.
